OK, so you drive a Mercedes Benz E Class W212, you have a few warning lights on your dashboard like shown in the image below, these warning symbols are the ABS, ESP, traction & traction off warning lights.
Its a sure sign that you need to replace an ABS sensor. But how do you know which ABS sensor to replace? The Mercedes Benz W212 has 4 abs sensors, one on each wheel, and generally cost about £60 to replace (plus the labour if your taking it to a garage). However did you know that you can diagnose the fault yourself by using the iCarsoft MB V1.0 diagnostic tool which works perfectly on pretty much all Mercedes Smart & Sprinter vehicles.
Depending on which abs sensor (also known as a wheel speed sensor) is faulty, it will throw a unique fault code. The fault codes are shown here
443100 Front Left ABS Sensor (watch video)
447100 Front Right ABS Sensor (watch video)
44B100 Rear Left ABS Sensor (watch video)
44F100 Rear Right ABS Sensor (watch video)
You can pick up the iCarsoft MB v1.0 diagnostic tool from the UK iCarsoft supplier Diagnostic World.
Here is a video of the MB V1.0 in action diagnosing & resetting the warning lights on an E Class.
Its worth knowing that the tool will cover other Mercedes models like the A Class, B Class, C Class, S Class, GLA, CLA, SLK, ML etc etc.
